What qualifications do I need to be a myBoatshare.com skipper?

Sail

Any of the following options :

• RYA Day Skipper or above (Coastal or Yachtmaster)
• Quantifiable sailing experience (sea-miles, personal logbook etc.)
• General sailing exposure, (crewed for others etc.) and a commitment to the myBoatshare.com training programme

Power

Power Boat Level Two plus Day Skipper
or
Power Boat Intermediary

Plus an on water assessment based on the number of recent hours in your log.

For both Sail and Power a current DSC VHF Certificate is required.

We require myBoatshare.com skippers to satisfy us of their ability to take charge of the craft. At our discretion this may include an on the water assessment. Where appropriate we may suggest a day or two of refresher training to ensure your safety and maximum enjoyment, and/or limit your boating area whilst you build up your experience.
