Additional Costs and Charges
As virtually everything is included in the regular monthly payment the
additional costs of enjoying time on the water as a myBoatshare.com
member are very small indeed.
Costs normally associated with boat ownership that you won't have to
pay as a myBoatshare.com member include:
- Annual mooring fees
- Maintenance of the yacht and engine
- Sea Start Membership
- Fuel (sailing boats)
- Cooking Gas
- Antifouling
- Sail cleaning
- Servicing
- Insurance
- Updating of navigation charts and books
All of the above are included. The only areas where you might incur
some modest costs spending time on the water are:
Extra diesel fuel
Fuel for sailing yachts is included in your annual membership "fare use policy applies" generally we consider this to be around 60 litres per a year - This would normally cover all your activities, if you have to motor a long passage then please tell us, and we will either invoice you or simply top the tank up before you return the boat.
On power boats we are fitting a highly accurate flow meter, we will then charge you each month for the fuel used. Built into the fuel charge is a contribution to the cost of engine servicing on power boats.
Mooring Fees
When not at your home Marina you pay the mooring fees to the marina or
harbour that you are staying in. These can vary from a free anchorage to
around £25 a night at a popular marina.
Bookings
There are no charges to book; simply log in to our, easy to use, online Booking scheduler and book the days you want.
Handover
Return time is usually 9.00am with pick-up at 10am, but we do try and be flexible; our club like atmosphere means members often communicate with each other directly on the details for handover day.
Cleaning
We ask that you return the yacht in the same condition as when you
collected it. If the boat is returned in an unclean state there will be a
penalty charge, plus the cost of having the boat cleaned.
However we know that cleaning a boat is simply not how some people
want to end their sailing week. Therefore if you want, we can arrange to
have a boat valet company meet you on your return, service the yacht
as required and charge your account.
Cleaning Materials
You will find the boat has been stocked with the essentials
needed to keep things "ship shape". Such as washing up liquid, toilet
and shower cleaner, cleaning wipes, plus a stock of heads friendly toilet paper,
wherever possible we will have chosen the environmentally friendly option.
