We understand that the most important issue at Sea is safety and as a result ensure that all our members are fully qualified to skipper a yacht.
To ensure all our members are safe we have a minimum qualification level and all new members have a two day on water induction with a fully RYA qualified skipper. To find out more about our induction click here
What qualifications do I need to be a myBoatshare.com skipper?
Sail
Any of the following options :
- RYA Day Skipper (Sail), Theory and Practical, or above (Coastal or Yachtmaster)
- Quantifiable sailing experience (sea-miles, personal logbook etc.) and myBoatshare.com induction
- A commitment to the myBoatshare.com training programme
Power
Any of the following options :
- RYA Day Skipper Power or above (Coastal or Yachtmaster)
- RYA Day Skipper (Sail), Powever Boat Level 2 and on water conversion course.
- Quantifiable motor-cruising experience (sea-miles, personal logbook etc.) and myBoatshare.com on water assessment
- A commitment to the myBoatshare.com training programme
Rib
Any of the following options :
- Quantifiable motor-cruising experience with a minimum of Powerboat Level 2 (sea-miles, personal logbook etc.)
- A commitment to the myBoatshare.com training programme
We also require a current DSC VHF Certificate.
